Born in the mid 17th century, Vasco da Gama was one of the most known people of his time. Although he was raised as a nobleman, the Count of Vidigueira, he always kept his adventuristic spirit.
Known for many endeavors, he is famous for discovering a sea route from Europe to Asia. By doing that, he established Portugal as a naval force which made its colonies in India and neighbor countries.
After many adventures, he died in Portuguese part of India in 1524. but now he forever lies in Monastery of the Hieronymites, located in Lisbon, Portugal.
