Peruvian known as Caballero de Los Mares, a Gentleman of the Seas is the nickname Miguel has received not by his bravery which was shown on the numerous occasions but rather by kind and chivalrous treatment of defeated enemies and because of that, he's respected by Chileans and Peruvians while leaving trace as one of the best naval leaders of America as well.
Although he died in the late 19th century during the battle and is resting now in the mausoleum of Naval School in Peru, he was voted as a Peruvian of the Millennium.
